The best smartphones are not always affordable for all buyers and they have to compromise on price and quality. However, in recent years, users who are not willing to spend large amounts of money have had a third option - clones of flagship smartphones from Chinese manufacturers. This week, little-known smartphone maker Bluboo created an almost exact replica of the Samsung Galaxy S8. The similarity lies not only in appearance and design, but also in specifications, with the exception of some details that make it clear that this is not a premium smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is one of the best-selling Android smartphones in history. However, if you compare the price and characteristics of this Samsung smartphone with its new Chinese clone Bluboo S8, many may be shocked. Especially considering the fact that for the price of one Galaxy S8 you can buy several Bluboo S8 smartphones.

Pay attention to tiny differences that can have a big impact on the final product. The seemingly small difference between a 5.7-inch HD LCD display and a 5.8-inch SUPER AMOLED Quad HD+ (4K) display can actually be huge. The same goes for the 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel Sony cameras in the Galaxy S8 and the 16MP + 3MP sensors from the same Sony in the Bluboo smartphone.

So take a look at the spec comparison.

Samsung Galaxy S8 vs Bluboo S8

Display: 5.8" Quad HD+ (4K) SUPER AMOLED / 5.7" HD (720p) LCD

Display-to-body ratio: 83.6% / 83%

Processor: 8-core Exynos 8895 / 8-core Mediatek MT6750T

RAM: 4 GB / 3 GB

Internal memory: 64 GB / 32 GB

SD card slot: up to 256 GB / up to 256 GB

Camera: 8+12MP/16MP+3MP

Battery: 3000 mAh / 3450 mAh

Fingerprint Scanner: Rear/Rear

Operating system: Android 7.0 / Android 7.0 with 360 OS

Weight: 155g / 207g

As you can see from the listing, the Galaxy S8 has a larger display but is lighter. This is partly due to the size of the battery on the Bluboo device. But it’s also worth mentioning that battery capacity is not always an indicator of long-term operation - a lot depends on the chipset and software.

Samsung's flagship features an edge-to-edge curved display that the company calls "infinity-edge." Bluboo also calls its display "Infinity Display". Thus, copying is limited not only to the design, but also to the names of the smartphone itself and its components.

Bluboo also says that its device has a “3-sided edge-to-edge display,” as listed on its official Bluboo S8 webpage. Like you, we're having a hard time finding a bezel-less third side - the image only shows two edges of the bezel-less display.

The Bluboo S8 is expected to go on sale in many countries for around $140. This is another huge difference between it and the Samsung Galaxy S8, which starts at $800.

Samsung Galaxy S8 is a wonderful gadget that is distinguished by its stylish appearance, high performance and excellent functionality. But with the only drawback - the unrealistically high cost. This is where industrial espionage comes to our aid - accurate copy of Samsung Galaxy S8 practically no different from the original. This is exactly the same device with excellent response, excellent performance and low resource consumption, but at a much lower cost. The difference between a replica and an original.

Both gadgets are equipped with modern powerful processors with high performance. The original has Exynos 8895V, the copy has Cortex-A9 Dual-core. In addition, the devices boast a modern video card, which ensures stable operation of all games and applications and allows you to watch videos in high quality.

The screen resolution of the Chinese replica is slightly lower: 1920x1080 pixels, while the original has 2960x1440 pixels. But without special equipment, the user will not notice any difference. The diagonal of the gadgets is 5.8 inches, the copy supports multi-touch technology.

The memory of both smartphones is expandable via an SD card. There are no differences between the gadgets. No one will be able to understand that you have a copy of the Samsung Galaxy S8 in your hands

The main advantages of the Samsung Galaxy S8 replica:

  1. Original filling. Spare parts for the production of smartphones are produced in Chinese factories. The same components are used in the manufacture of the original Galaxy S8.
  2. Exact similarity to the prototype. The device not only resembles its famous brother in appearance, but also the technical characteristics and OS design correspond to the original.
  3. Responsive screen. The display is manufactured by the famous company Sharp, with a QHD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels.
  4. Full set.
  5. Russified firmware. The operating system is completely translated into Russian without any inaccuracies.

A huge advantage of the smartphone is its price, which is five times lower than the original.

Replica Samsung Galaxy s8 service life

One of the most important issues that concern any buyer is the service life of the gadget. And this mainly depends on the thriftiness of the owner and the characteristics of use. The copy of Samsung Galaxy s8 edge in question is designed for several years of intensive use. In the production of the smartphone, high-quality and reliable materials with a large margin of safety were used.

Features of the “original” replica:

  • Highest build quality. Smartphones are assembled using modern equipment in completely sterile conditions.
  • Quality control. In enterprises, the quality of smartphones is carefully monitored based on many different indicators.
  • Samsung branded logos. All brand icons are located in the same places as the original.

Note that there are a huge number of copies of the lowest quality on the Internet. There is no logo on them, the hardware is long outdated and the body materials are made of cheap Chinese plastic.

Copy of Samsung Galaxy s8: customer reviews

You can find a huge number of reviews about the smartphone on the Internet. And we can say with confidence that there are much more positive responses. Buyers like the stylish design, easy interface and good performance of the device.

Here are some reviews about the model we are considering:

Elena, 31 years old:

“For a very long time my husband wanted a Samsung Galaxy, but we didn’t have enough money for it. I wanted to take out a phone on credit and decided to buy a copy of the Samsung Galaxy s8. I didn't tell my husband. The order was sent within a few days. The phone is incredibly similar to the original, black. My husband was very pleased, his friends are jealous of him.”

“I already had an original Samsung, but I broke the screen. The repair department asked for 10 thousand for a replacement and warned that it would no longer work as before. I decided to buy a replica. There are some differences, but only for me. In general, I'm happy with the purchase. For the money this is a great smartphone.”

“I wanted a Samsung Galaxy S8 for a long time and really asked my boyfriend. He wanted to take it on credit for me, but they didn’t give it to him. In the end, I decided to buy myself a smartphone. When looking for the cheapest options, I went to the site with a copy and doubted it for a long time. I saw a replica from my friend, it was quite high quality. Only after that I decided to order. The order arrived in the mail after 6 days. The box is beautiful, the phone cannot be distinguished from the original, so I recommend it.”

“Like many, I dreamed of a Samsung Galaxy, I had a similar phone several years ago, but now it is very outdated. So I wanted to update. The new one costs more than my salary. I was looking for various options, planning to buy a used one, but their price is also not low. I decided to try to take a Chinese replica. I found a website, it stated that it is no different from the real thing.

I don’t understand processors and other characteristics, so I took a chance. The new phone appeared to be of high quality; all the logos were there. I immediately started using Viber, VK, Instagram. The menu is clear, I have already installed many different applications. Everything loads well."

Konstantin, 32 years old:

“I work in retail myself, so it’s important for me to make a good impression on clients. But a few weeks ago, my iPhone accidentally crashed, and I didn’t even have time to repay the loan for it. I wore an iPhone with a cracked screen for a week, and clients looked at me disapprovingly. I couldn’t find the money for a new iPhone, so I decided to switch to Samsung.

I bought a copy of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and didn’t tell anyone at work that it was a copy. I immediately put the cover on it. I am completely satisfied with the functions, I mainly use the browser and calls, the sound is clear. Thus, he increased his status in the eyes of clients, along with the suit. A good smartphone, I recommend it.”

“For several years I have been buying exclusively Chinese smartphones. For me, it makes no sense to overpay for a big name manufacturer. I’m pleased that the Chinese have started making one-to-one copies of Samsung and iPhone. I decided to splurge and ordered myself a copy of the Samsung Galaxy S8. Expensive smartphone, compared to ordinary Chinese gadgets. I expected a quality product for this money.

I am completely satisfied with everything about the smartphone, the copy is made very well. The case is nice, the material is high quality, the gadget works quickly in all the games and applications that I have already installed. The quality of the pictures is excellent - I use the camera often. In a word, the Chinese pleased us. "

Negative reviews about a copy of Samsung Galaxy S8

Oleg Petrovich:

“I stupidly purchased a copy of Samsung secondhand. The phone turned out to be of extremely poor quality. It was not possible to contact the seller subsequently. I decided to order a replica of the Samsung Galaxy S8 on the official supplier’s website. The smartphone arrived in the mail within a few days and turned out to be of very high quality. And I realized that you shouldn’t take phones from your hands.”

Where to buy a copy of Samsung Galaxy S8?

No matter how strange it may sound, but Samsung Galaxy S8 replica may also be a fake with disgusting quality of materials, reminiscent of a cheap Chinese toy, and filling that was relevant a few years ago. Therefore, we advise you to purchase a copy only from trusted suppliers on the official website using the link provided. You will be satisfied with your purchase and will purchase a high-quality, modern, smart smartphone at a very competitive price.

We are currently facing an era dominated by the 18:9 full screen and dual-camera setup, not to mention the current bevel-free design trend. This is well known to the Chinese industry, and they are gradually producing devices with such characteristics. Leagoo is one of them and although in the past we have already talked about some phones such as the Leagoo T5C (the first phablet with SC5893i processor), the truth is that today we are analyzing a device that has caught our attention is this Leagoo S8 Although it is obviously marketed as a clone of the Samsung Galaxy S8, the truth is that it could be a good choice.

We have known the Leagoo brand for a long time, and this is not the first time in this house that we have tested the signature mobile phone. It's been a long time since we were able to try one of the cheapest mobile phones on the market, Leagoo M5 Now, with a much riskier bet, the Leagoo S8 comes to our offices to be posited as a viable alternative to Samsung's highest range. Will he get it?

Obviously, first of all, I should clarify that Leagoo S8 and Galaxy S8 compete in different leagues, but by using the same model name they give us a strange clue as to where this terminal is going. If we take the name and analyze it, we understand that Leagoo is synonymous with a very reliable brand with very low prices, and the S8 slogan lets us know that it will be based on the design of the Samsung flagship, which has managed to get a good handful of sales. this year. Can Leagoo S8 have anything to do with its name? Stay with us, we will tell you in the following lines. If you like it, remember that you can only buy it $129.99 . Leagoo S8 viewer box courtesy of Banggood

unpacking

The Leagoo S8 comes in a white box with dimensions of 7.48 x 7.48 x 1.77 inches and weighs 430 grams. Inside this box we will find the following products:

  • Smartphone 1 x Leagoo S8
  • 1 x headphones
  • 1 x power adapter
  • Silicone case 1 x
  • 1 x USB cable

Design

There are signatures that, when put on, make very good mobile phones, and in this sense, Leagoo has done nothing wrong. On a very limited budget, I created a very good smartphone with several features that will make us forget that this is such a cheap mobile phone. Of course, this is not ideal either, as there are some details to mention about your design that you may not like. In addition, thanks to the screen format, the mobile phone is very compact and has the right size, despite the large diagonal.

When we hold the phone for the first time, the feeling will be very beautiful, and its design will fit perfectly, also thanks to the double curved back, which adapts well to the CNC metal frame, which makes the grip and adapt to the hand more comfortable. It's also bright, which makes it more attractive, but unfortunately it does attract magnetic fingerprints, so we might have to clean it constantly.

Now we have to talk about its dimensions 153.5 x 70.7 x 8.8 mm, with a weight of 185 grams. The mobile is quite comfortable and actually feels very good in the hand, but is thicker than the Galaxy S8 and has a tactile feel to it. In turn, it is also somewhat heavier than other phones, and although you quickly get used to it, it is not that it is ultra-light like a mobile phone. Thanks to this, it has metal frames and a back that looks like a glass, even if it isn't. The mobile phone is very beautiful and its design looks great.

On the front we have a dual camera for men and 3 soft keys (no start button), in addition to the screen. On the back we have another dual camera, an LED flashlight and a fairly flexible fingerprint sensor. The latter can unlock the phone in less than 0.1 seconds with a success rate of 97%. It also recognizes up to 5 different tracks from different angles.

The volume buttons and power button are on the right side of the phone, while the SIM tray is on the left side. The Leagoo S8 allows for dual SIM cards in a Nano SIM + Micro SIM configuration or you can use the second slot to insert a microSD card. The speaker is located on the bottom edge next to the USB charging port.

Show

Based on first impressions, the Leagoo S8 has become typical. The screen of this phone is made by Sharp, but it looks yellowish if we look at it from certain angles. It measures 5.7 inches and is capable of offering HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels), something quite typical, although it appears smaller than the 5.2-inch. The main reason for this is the width of the screen, which has remained the same, and only the length has increased. The benefit of this is that without sacrificing the grip control experience, the viewing area is now larger and suitable for one hand. The contrast ratio is 1500:1, while the phone has a pixel density of 282.

The screen colors may seem quite stylish, but the images are decent considering their low resolution for the screen size. It also has good viewing angles and a fully responsive panel. Overall, it's a pretty decent screen, the type you'd expect for a smartphone in this price range.

In mind, the screen is curved on the sides and produces a slight optical effect of a curve, but the truth is that the screen is actually flat. It's a very interesting trick that we've seen from other manufacturers, and although it packs a punch, we can't forget that we won't be faced with a truly curved screen. As for the panel quality, despite being HD+, it's not bad. The mobile looks very good both inside and out and it is hard to understand that we are not faced with a Full HD panel, Sharp screens are always a good choice. What we didn't like at all is the screen protector that it brings and which remains like a centimeter of the edge, it is advisable to remove it because it is terrible. It can be solved with the help of an additional one, which also includes a gift sleeve that allows us to protect the phone.

On the other hand, the screen is not curved like the Galaxy S8, although they used a Chinese trick that we already saw in the Elephone S7. Since creating a curved screen is a very expensive and time-consuming process, Leagoo created slightly thicker glass with slightly more pronounced curved edges.

Equipment and performance

The Leagoo S8 has an octa-core MediaTek MT6750T processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 4 of its ARM Cortex-A53 cores and the other 4 clocked at less than 1.0 GHz. This processor is accompanied by a small T860MP GPU that runs at 650 MHz.

This processor gets acceptable results in benchmark tests, but for casual users it will be more than enough. AnTuTu scores 39,567 points in version 6.xxx and 51,042 in version 7.xxx, and Geekbench scores single-core performance at 607 and multi-core performance at 2093. As we mentioned, these results aren't surprising, but the 3 GB RAM helps keep it going in day-to-day activities. , there are several possibilities where there is a delay.

In the gaming section, the Leagoo S8 is quite modest. With titles like Asphalt 8, it will work well with graphics in between. Of course, some frames will be omitted, but without significant delays during their use. When it comes to multitasking, you will have no problem with your daily activities. Finally, we have 32 GB of internal storage, a little on the skimpy side, but enough for the average user. But we can also expand this space using a microSD card up to 128 GB.

Leagoo S8 operating system

Like most of its Chinese competitors, the Leagoo S8 has Android 7.0 as its operating system. However, it may introduce certain lags with the default launcher and fluidity in the animations that Leagoo has chosen to solve this problem, we can use a different launcher and thus the performance of the device will be much more uniform.

In terms of pre-installed apps, the Leagoo S8 comes with basic apps. There is an FM radio, an audio recorder, a backup app, and a file manager. It includes the full suite of Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, Google Maps and Play Music, although the phone also has its own Android browser, music player and gallery installed.

camera

Speaking of phones for this sector of the market, it would be normal for them to have a "meh" camera, mediocre, but in fact the image performance is really good for the amateur user or for those who like to take photos share on social networks. We have two sensors at the back and two others at the front. The rear panel has a 13 MP + 2 MP configuration with a Sony lens and f/2.0 aperture positioned vertically on the top of the phone. The flash is above them, while the square fingerprint scanner is located below them.

It's relatively easy to take decent photos during the day or in good lighting conditions. It also has a useful assistant for taking panoramic images that shows you how to do it correctly, and the same applies to video capture. However, when the sun sets, problems arise such as VERY low ISO, increased digital noise in photos, and decreased frame rates in videos.

The autofocus function works well, it's fast and you can take a photo in just 0.1 seconds. The front camera has an 8 MP + 2 MP setup, the dual OV comes with a 4P lens, f/2.0 aperture and its own soft flash which can be useful in low light conditions. As for the two front cameras, Leagoo again falls into the same mistake and offers us two cameras, the main one of very outstanding quality to make our selfies, as well as an accessible front flash, ideal for almost dark photographs and a secondary one designed for creating portraits, using the same method as the rear camera, blurring the edges of the photo and leaving only the center to accommodate us.

However, all of the above are typical for a phone of this type, and the final verdict is that with the Leagoo S8 you will be able to record decent photos in daylight conditions, but you won't be able to take impressive photos in low light conditions. LED flash works well at approaches or distances up to 70-80cm, but won't help you if your subject is a little further away. Below you can see a small gallery.

connection

Leagoo S8 comes with dual 4G connectivity thanks to the built-in chip, Cat. 6 LTE radio modem (FDD/TDD, DC-HSPA+, TD-SCDMA, CDMA2000, EDGE) with WiFi 802.11n and Bluetooth. On the modem side, the MT6750T covers worldwide 4G and enables advanced 4G LTE Cat-6 (LTE FDD/TDD R11) features with 2x carrier aggregation, as well as capability for VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWiFi and fast RCS data.

One of the most positive features is the performance of your GPS/A-GPS receiver, and this is where the device really shines. It can connect to 11-12 more available satellites at all times, offering impressive geographic location performance while navigating with Google Maps or logging into Facebook and other apps.

Overall, Leagoo S8 is a 4G/LTE smartphone with good performance when it comes to LTE networks, achieving average data speeds of 45-55Mbps, which undoubtedly brings a pleasant experience when you use it, as well as excellent performance on a daily basis. use. It has good reception of GSM/WCDMA/LTE signals with flawless transmission and no dropped calls.

battery

The battery of this device has a capacity of 2940 mAh, enough for intensive use throughout the day. Between the approaching durations we have 8 hours of video playback, 20 hours of continuous calls, 36 hours of regular use and 10 days of standby. Obviously, these are the times that Leagoo suggests, so we may not believe them.

During our tests, the Leagoo S8 managed to get almost 18 hours of use before its battery reached 1% and fell asleep. What's interesting is its loading speed, which can take this beauty from 0% to 100% in about 39 minutes, which is very good I think if you're in a hurry and want to get the "juice" as quickly as possible.

conclusions

Even though it was a cloned Samsung Galaxy S8 phone, Leagoo S8 is a good smartphone at a very low price. There are some negative aspects to consider: no NFC, camera is not good enough in low light conditions. However, these aspects are offset by its attractive design, fast loading times, added operating system features, and good overall performance.

The nearly bezel-less 5.7-inch screen isn't the best out there, but it can offer a good experience. Finally, we can say that this device is a good alternative to purchase, although if we are one of those extremely demanding users, we do not recommend it.

Another clone of the Samsung Galaxy S8+ came to us for testing. The manufacturer, apparently, was not very sure what exactly he was copying - S8 or S8+, and therefore the “+” slid slightly to the side. Actually, the display diagonal here is 6 inches (although test applications define it as 5"), so in this parameter it is closer to the S8+. But, delving into the study of the gadget, you understand that in fact there is only a name from Galaxy here, so it’s better Let’s immediately forget about it and stop comparing them: we didn’t even bother with the curved edges - we limited ourselves to 2D glass. Maybe it’s for the better.

Appearance

There is nothing interesting on the front of the smartphone: there is only a front camera and a speaker. The speaker is weak, although it is quite suitable for conversations, but the music from it sounds terrible. The camera is very mediocre and can only be used outdoors on a sunny day.

At first glance at the back panel, a wave of nostalgia for refrigerators of the forties, chrome bumpers and the first iPhones/iPads rolls over. This mirror looks interesting; it can be used to pick out eyelashes from your eyes. True, it is made of laminated foil, which means it will quickly get scratched and lose its specularity. Luckily, it comes with a silicone case to protect it. But these are all compromises, and the phone looks unpleasant in this case, but the thickness of the silicone hides the protruding camera and fingerprint scanner.

In addition to the two cameras, which we will talk about below, there is a fingerprint sensor here. It doesn’t always work, it gets warm when charging and heavy work, after it works, after about a second the screen smoothly comes to life, as if the progers specially inserted a delay there. However, they can add pluses to their karma for the scanner’s ability to wake up the phone. That is, you don’t need to press anything, just put your finger on it - and after a second the screen will turn on and the phone will wake up. Several unsuccessful recognition attempts (even when the finger didn’t hit) drive the scanner into a stupor, after which you have to wait for a while or enter a PIN code.

Personally, such scanners seem inconvenient to me (and in general, the only, in my opinion, convenient fingerprint scanner was on the Sony Xperia, built into the power button). In the same version, you have to constantly grope for it, inevitably touching the camera. Since I use the camera often, I am very pedantic about the fingers on the lens, which may not be noticed at the right moment.

By the way, about the complete set: everything here is standard for China, without frills. A silicone case, films for the screen, a 5V 2A charger with a cord and, of course, a type-c to jack 3.5 adapter for headphones (after all, wired headphones are suddenly out of fashion).

A quick look at the edges of the smartphone: on the left are the volume buttons.

On the right is the power button.

On top there is a compartment for SIM cards and memory cards and a microphone for noise reduction.

At the bottom there is a single Type-C connector, a speaker (no better than the top one) and a microphone.

Performance

In terms of performance, everything is approximately clear even when reading the characteristics - not top. This is not to say that the interface frankly lags, but it thinks about every action. Against the backdrop of cool smartphones, this becomes noticeable, but if we abstract ourselves, everything is not so bad. In addition, with an empty tray, almost 1.5 GB of RAM goes somewhere, so the installed 4 GB greatly contributes to a relatively pleasant work experience.

Here are some tests for you. In AnTuTu we are almost half as good as the Galaxy S6.

And here are the battery test results.

The battery is actually rather weak. With two hours of almost continuous use of LTE, 40% of the charge is consumed - with such a capacity this is a big loss. By the way, sometimes a smartphone loses LTE even in places where it is relatively stable.

There are no obvious problems with navigation, although the search for satellites during tests is sluggish. However, this is quite enough for orientation using maps.

Software

On Android, a UI shell is installed here, and with it many unnecessary applications. Of course, 360 Security is sometimes needed, but most applications are simply useless. For example, the UC News application seems like a cool thing, but it broadcasts exclusively Indian news, which is terribly monotonous.

The shell on Android is also not without its sins: the buttons shrink in places, Russian words do not fit, and the blur effect that is superimposed on the icons when the top settings panel drops out looks simply terrible, like a squeezed GIF with rough step gradients. This, of course, is not visible in the screenshots.

If you look at the back-home-tray system button panel, you will notice an arrow on the left that hides it. Thus, you can lengthen the screen even further, freeing it from all unnecessary information. This is convenient when viewing videos and photos. Just please use headphones. A large and long screen is, of course, good for watching videos, but the sound from the speakers is so terrible that I want to believe that no one would think of listening to music through them.

Camera

If the S8 code in the name was supposed to give some hint about the status and level of the smartphone, then the camera completely neutralized it (well, it’s not the first).

Pictures in good sunny weather look no better than in twilight: absolutely wild noise reduction everywhere, poor detail, narrow dynamic range. Even the HDR mode works somehow unclearly. However, it can be worse.

If desired, you can shoot macro indoors, but only near the window.

When it comes to shooting text, things aren't that bad.

I almost forgot, an additional 3 MP module is attached to the main camera. To be honest, I still don’t understand why it is needed. If the mode is for simulating shallow depth of field, then it seems the programmers forgot to use it. No, seriously, I checked all the modes, and it was not involved in any of them.

conclusions

Despite all the shortcomings, the smartphone turned out to be solid, for its price, of course. Of course, it won’t catch the stars from the sky, but it has many useful and not so useful functions. In any case, then everything depends on the specific tasks. If you need a smartphone with a large screen that doesn’t slow down too much and won’t physically use up all the memory in the near future, where the camera and autonomy are not very important, and the price is 10 thousand rubles, why not consider the Bluboo S8+? However, here you need to understand that almost all of its advantages end there.
